I would honestly go insane if it wasn't for music. I crave it constantly. It is the art of memories. It will bring back a million different feelings and emotions within the average three minute time span. It's crazy how I know exactly where I was and what I was doing when I hear certain songs on my iPhone.
There have been times when I haven't been able to listen to songs though. I honestly think that if you can't listen to music when you're in the car or at least some kind of noise it would drive you a litte bit insane.
To only be stuck with the road and your thoughts is a scary thing. Especially because overthinking is responsible for so much agony. Overthinking can lead to worry and frankly worrying does nothing good. Perhaps the only good thing about worrying that I can see is that it makes one aware of what is going on in their life and the problems that they need to overcome. But worry without action will cause more problems than it will ever solve.
I guess the song "Car Radio" by Twenty One Pilots says it perfectly when it comes to being alone with your thoughts. "I'm forced to deal with what I feel. There is no distraction to mask what is real." And maybe that's why we all love music. It helps us by taking us to a land where we can "Escape" from reality and our problems for even a couple minutes. We all need that break from thinking or else we would be driven by worry and stress out because of it. We all need a way to escape. Whether it's by music or another outlet.
