Wasted Potential

For the most part we are all fortunate enough to have fully functioning brains and a body that does exactly as it is supposed to. Too often do we take for grated how good we have it.

We are all capable of achieving great things. In this day and age it seems like great things are a rarity and it's not because we lack the resources or intelligence to achieve these feats, it's because we're well, lazy.

This thought bounced into my brain as I was helping my dad move containers into our new house. We are amazing creatures. Our bodies are always changing and adopting to our environment so that we can live better in the future and yet we're throwing it away. Now I'm not saying I'm perfect and that I've never wasted time because I have, but our mind and body is a terrible thing to waste and most people do nothing with their lives. All that potential for creating and even destroying, gone. Wasted potential.

Even while I'm at work, my retail job, I'm constantly thinking of ways to improve my blog or photography. I want it to be the very best it possibly can and willing to go to any lengths in order to achieve that goal of mine. Yet sometimes I'm too exhausted and it's the last thing I want to think of. But I still try anyways knowing that eventually I will break through and achieve what I want out of not just my work but my life as well. I don't want to waste my potential for I know that I will not be on earth forever. I don't know how long I will reside in this ball of dirt, but I want to do something to make it better and not allow what I can bring into the world go to waste. That's my dream.

Don't be one of those people who sits in a chair at the end of their life wishing that had done more. Do more now. You'll be happier that you did.
